TELC C1 Hörverstehen has three parts and takes about 40 minutes. Teil 1 is Globalverstehen with 8 Zuordnungsaufgaben worth 8 points. Teil 2 is Detailverstehen with 10 three-option multiple-choice items worth 20 points. Teil 3 is Informationstransfer with 10 information-completion items worth 20 points. The section is worth 48 points total.

At C1, the answer is often not a repeated keyword. You have to track concessions, corrected assumptions, reported opinions, examples, and the speaker’s final position. A tempting option may use words you heard, but express the wrong scope, cause, consequence, or attitude.

Read the statements or options first, then listen for the role of each detail. Ask whether a sentence is the speaker’s main claim, an example, a concession, or someone else’s view. After choosing an answer, check whether the whole passage supports it, not just one isolated phrase.
