Schreiben has two tasks inside the shared 50-minute Lesen und Schreiben block. Teil 1 is a form-completion task with 5 missing entries, and Teil 2 is a short personal letter.

In Teil 1, you transfer five pieces of information into a form. In Teil 2, you reply to an everyday situation with a brief letter, choose 3 of the 4 given points, write 1-2 sentences for each chosen point, and include a suitable opening and closing.

The official model test says “Schreiben Sie ca. 40 Wörter.” You do not need a long text. A short, clear letter that covers 3 content points plus greeting and closing is better than a long unfocused answer.

The official rating criteria award points for each content point and for communicative text form. In practice, that means you should cover the chosen points clearly and use an appropriate letter format with a greeting and closing.
