Lesen is part of the shared 50-minute Lesen und Schreiben block and contains 15 items in 3 Teile. Teil 1 uses a/b/c choices with one information text, Teil 2 uses richtig/falsch statements for one longer text, and Teil 3 matches advertisements to situations.

The official model test uses practical texts such as department-store information, a celebrity-style magazine article, and short advertisements or website notices. The exam checks whether you can extract useful everyday information quickly.

You read several ads labeled with letters and match them to five situations. One situation has no matching ad, and for that task you must write x. This is an easy place to lose points if you forget the no-solution option.

Because Lesen and Schreiben share 50 minutes, do not treat reading as a separate 30-minute exam. A practical approach is to complete the 15 reading items efficiently, then leave enough time for the form task and the letter in Schreiben Teil 2.
