The Goethe B2 Schreiben (Writing) module takes 75 minutes total and consists of two tasks. Teil 1 (50 minutes recommended) is a forum post expressing your opinion (Meinungsäußerung) with minimum 150 words. Teil 2 (25 minutes recommended) is a personal message/correspondence (Persönliche Mitteilung) with minimum 100 words. You can start with either task.
In Teil 1, you write a forum post (Forumsbeitrag) expressing your opinion. You need to: express your opinion (Meinung äußern), justify it (begründen), suggest something (etwas vorschlagen), and explain pros and cons (Vor- und Nachteile erläutern). Minimum 150 words required.
In Teil 2, you write a personal message (Nachricht) as correspondence. You need to: explain (erklären), describe (beschreiben), suggest something (etwas vorschlagen), and make polite requests (höflich bitten). Minimum 100 words required.
Only texts on the answer sheet (Antwortbogen) are graded. Write with a blue or black pen. No aids such as dictionaries, phones, or mobile devices are allowed. You can start with either task within the 75 minutes total time.
