Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about the exam!
The official format lasts about 30 minutes and features four parts: short public announcements, an interview or guided tour, a longer dialogue, and a radio discussion. Some recordings are played once, others twice, so plan your note-taking with that in mind.
Expect True/False, multiple choice, and matching statements to speakers. Part 4 focuses on assigning opinions to different people, so listen for signalling phrases such as "in my view" or "experts say".
Preview each task before the audio starts, highlight key details you need (names, times, locations), and note keywords rather than full sentences. When a text plays twice, use the first pass to orient yourself and the second to confirm answers.
