About Sprechen (Speaking) section
The TELC B2 Mündlicher Ausdruck (Speaking) module takes approximately 15 minutes with a 20-minute preparation phase (Vorbereitungszeit). The exam is conducted in pairs and consists of three parts testing your ability to speak about experiences, discuss topics, and plan activities together.
🎤 Teil 1: Über Erfahrungen sprechen (Talking About Experiences)
• Choose one topic from 7 options (book, film, trip, music event, sports event, important person, important experience)
• Speak for about 1½ minutes about your chosen topic
• Use the prompts in brackets as guidance (e.g., theme, author, your opinion)
• After your presentation, answer questions from your partner
• Then listen to your partner and ask them questions about their topic
💬 Teil 2: Diskussion (Discussion)
• Discuss a controversial topic with your partner
• State your opinion and defend it with arguments
• Listen to your partner's viewpoint and respond appropriately
• Find common ground or respectfully disagree
• Example topics: technology in schools, work-life balance, environmental issues
